Tele-psychiatry or virtual psychiatry is the delivery of psychiatric care services over the internet through secure live 2 -way video or smart phones.

Benefits to seeing a psychiatrist online include, the convenience of not leaving home, avoidance of a commute, traffic, parking costs, and time off work associated with an office visit. Virtual visits are more accessible with evening and weekend hours.

Visits with online providers are conducted anywhere you have an internet access or connection and a computer, tablet or smartphone

BBHS a 100% online tele-psychiatry service. In-office visits may be available in the future.

BBHS is currently serving Delaware and Pennsylvania. This may change in the future as we grow.

A BBHS virtual visit is similar to an office visit except for convenience. Your provider will evaluate your symptoms and medical history. And develop an individualized treatment plan that includes diagnosis, counseling, appropriate referrals or prescribed medications if necessary. Prescriptions are sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice.

For new patients, the initial visit is about 45-60 minutes. All follow-up visits are approximately 15-30 minutes.

Absolutely. BBHS provides all visits via a private, secure, HIPAA-compliant 2-way video platform.

Yes! Our platform allows convenient and secure email via our patient portal between you and your provider. Just download Patient Portal App to any Apple or Android smartphone.

Yes, we do take all major insurances, Medicare, or Medicaid, as well as cash payment.

We charge $199 for an initial Psychiatric Evaluation. The visits are approximately 45-60 minutes. Follow-up visits are about 15-30 minutes and cost $99. Talk therapy sessions start at $79.

Missed appointments (“No-Shows”) or cancellations made within 8 hours of the scheduled visit will be charged  50 % of the visit fee. There are absolutely no refunds for telehealth visits that have already started, regardless of the length of visit, the treatment plan set forth, or whether medications are prescribed, or for any other reason not listed.  In this case, you will be charged for the entire visit.

Yes, you can see one of our providers as long as you are a resident of any of the states that we are licensed in.

Yes! Call or email us to discuss how BBHS can provide tele-psychiatry services and meet your facility’s mental health needs.

Most mental health medications can be prescribed as permitted by state and federal DEA regulations.

All prescriptions must be medically necessary based on specific diagnostic criteria in addition to other clinical factors.

BBHS does not provide or offer emergency mental health treatment. If you are experiencing active suicidal thoughts, please call 911 or visit your nearest hospital.

Providers do not offer psychiatric evaluations for long term disability or workers compensation.

Providers are traditionally prohibited from prescribing controlled substances via telehealth visits without a prior established in-person visit.  (There are exceptions currently in place during the Covid-19 national public health emergency as determined by DEA regulations)
